Present and Future Funding

Contribute at GoFundMe

Compare Basic has raised a total of $8,500 US dollars through crowdfunding since Janruary 2024 ($1,500 in supportive-only donations). These raises/donations were done through two seperate crowdfunding campaigns in the Spring and Winter of 2024/2025.

The "next raise" is for the amount of $8,000 using the same strategy that I used last year. Donations can be converted in $5 increments into shares of the company, using an online fundraising tool. The company by-laws assign certain voting priviledges to the crowdfunding class of share-holders, and implement a priority payback schedule as revenue exceeds overhead. Changes to this budget requires approval from the crowdfunding share-holders.

We are presently seeking additional investment to release the first products built on the Caneka runtime. Click here for details.

Our crowdfunding round is expected to close at the end of 2025 and is currently open, email the founder (fire@firecrow.com) for more details.

Timeline

Optimistic Phase

From January through April of 2024, I believed that a product launch was just a few months away and began raising money based on the concept of a new language-runtime and pragmatic software company.

Day-Job Phase

Starting in April, it was clear that the scale of the system needed more time (and planning/development). The intial plan was to put the company on hold, however starting in August, I worked in restuarants part-time as line-cook/dishwasher writing the remaining generations of the Caneka Runtime.

Finish We Started Phase (current)

Starting in October 2025, the system is performing well and is ready to become my full-time occupation again. With the hourly-rate I made in restaurants I can pay myself to work on it for about four months with the upcoming raise. This phase is expected to build a profitable product, or a demo capable of raising enough money to start a software development team.
